Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Restaurant Technology Project Manager to oversee technology deployments for new restaurant openings (NROs), restaurant remodels, and multi-location technology implementation projects.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end technology deployment activities, coordinating multiple vendors, construction teams, franchise partners, and internal IT stakeholders to ensure all restaurant technology systems are installed, configured, tested, and operational before opening day.
This role requires a combination of project management, restaurant technology knowledge, vendor coordination, and construction project exposure.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end technology projects for new restaurant openings and remodels.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Coordinate the installation and deployment of restaurant technology systems, including:
- Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Kitchen Display Systems (KDS).
- Digital Menu Boards.
- Drive-thru technology.
- Security cameras and surveillance systems.
- Wired and wireless network infrastructure.
- Firewalls and related network equipment.
- Coordinate technology vendors, general contractors, electricians, and installation teams.
- Ensure all technology systems are installed, configured, tested, and ready before restaurant openings.
- Conduct pre-opening technology readiness reviews and validate go-live requirements.
- Serve as the primary technology contact for franchise partners, construction managers, and field operations teams.
- Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and escalations.
- Conduct project status meetings and provide regular updates to stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Manage technology upgrades, infrastructure refreshes, platform rollouts, and multi-site deployments.
- Participate in construction meetings to ensure technology requirements align with construction schedules.
- Coordinate low-voltage cabling, conduit placement, and infrastructure readiness with construction teams.
- Conduct post-opening reviews and document lessons learned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Construction Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 4–6 years of project management experience in a restaurant or retail environment.
- Direct experience managing technology projects for new store openings (NROs), restaurant openings, or remodels.
- Experience coordinating multiple technology vendors and contractors.
- Strong understanding of restaurant technology systems, including:
- POS systems.
- Kitchen Display Systems (KDS).
- Digital Menu Boards.
- Drive-thru technology.
- Security and camera systems.
- Network infrastructure and firewalls.
- Experience developing project plans, managing timelines, and tracking project deliverables.
- Familiarity with construction project lifecycles and low-voltage infrastructure requirements.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP certification or equivalent project management certification.
- Experience with self-service kiosk systems.
- Experience using project management tools such as:
- Microsoft Project.
- Smartsheet.
- Monday.com.
- JIRA.
