Preferred Construction Partners. is looking for an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to take the lead in the field on a short-term commercial construction project in North Georgia. This is a project-based contract position expected to last approximately 3–4 months, with the potential for additional projects for the right person. We’re looking for a hands-on superintendent who knows how to build a job. Someone who can walk onto a site, read the plans, coordinate the trades, keep the schedule moving, catch problems before they become expensive problems, and hold subcontractors accountable. This is not a desk job. You’ll be the person running the day-to-day operation of the jobsite and serving as the eyes and ears of the company in the field. We value experience, common sense, good communication, and the ability to get things done without unnecessary bureaucracy.
Compensation

- Take ownership of the day-to-day operation of the jobsite.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors and suppliers in the field.
- Maintain the project schedule and keep the work moving.
- Develop and maintain short-term look-ahead schedules.
- Conduct regular jobsite walks and identify potential problems before they become delays or change orders.
- Review plans, specifications, details, and scopes of work.
- Coordinate sequencing between trades.
- Verify that work is being installed correctly and according to the plans and specifications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.
- Coordinate inspections and address inspection issues.
- Communicate regularly with the Project Manager regarding progress, issues, manpower, materials, and schedule.
- Maintain daily reports and jobsite documentation.
- Track material deliveries and make sure materials are available when needed.
- Coordinate deliveries and site logistics.
- Hold subcontractors accountable for schedule, quality, manpower, and cleanup.
- Identify conflicts in the field and work with the appropriate parties to resolve them.
- Assist with change-order documentation and verification of additional work.
- Manage punch list and closeout activities.
- Maintain good working relationships with subcontractors, inspectors, owners, and project team members.
- Represent Preferred Construction Partners professionally on the jobsite.
- Do whatever needs to be done to keep the project moving. Qualifications Required
- 10+ years of commercial construction experience preferred.
- Proven experience running commercial jobsites as a Superintendent, General Superintendent, Foreman, or similar field leadership position.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction means and methods.
- Ability to read and understand architectural, structural, MEP, and civil drawings.
- Ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors and trades simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and scheduling.
- Ability to identify problems in the field and figure out practical solutions.
- Strong communication skills.
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to the project each day.
- Ability to work independently without constant direction. Preferred
- Restaurant, retail, office, multifamily, or other commercial renovation/build-out experience.
- Experience working in occupied or existing buildings.
- Procore or similar construction management software experience.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience coordinating municipal inspections.
- Strong knowledge of commercial building codes and construction practices.
- Experience with punch, closeout, and turnover. The Person We’re Looking For We’re not necessarily looking for someone with the longest resume. We’re looking for someone who knows how to build. The right person is someone who can look at a set of plans, walk the job, talk to a plumber, electrician, framer, drywall contractor, and inspector—and know what needs to happen next. You don’t need someone standing over your shoulder telling you what to do. You know how to:
