Innovien is supporting a manufacturing modernization effort at a major North American industrial manufacturer. We're hiring a Mechanical Engineer II to own the mechanical side of new automation, machinery, and capital equipment projects, from the first CAD drawing to the day the equipment runs in production. If you like being on the plant floor and seeing what you designed actually get built, this is the seat. What You'll Do
- Design automation equipment and mechanical systems in CAD, including drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation
- Own equipment and capital projects end to end: concept, budgeting, procurement, component selection, BOM development, installation, testing, startup, and closeout
- Partner with controls engineers, maintenance, operations, vendors, and contractors to get equipment designed, built, and commissioned
- Troubleshoot machinery and give hands-on engineering guidance to maintenance and operations teams
- Improve equipment safety, reliability, quality, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), and keep plant leadership current on status, risks, and priorities What You Bring
- 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience designing automation equipment, machinery, or mechanical systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong AutoCAD skills for mechanical design, drawings, and documentation
- A track record owning equipment projects from design through procurement, installation, startup, and closeout
- Hands-on plant floor experience troubleshooting machinery and improving equipment performance
- Clear, confident communication with everyone from maintenance technicians to plant leadership Nice to Have
- Experience in high-volume continuous manufacturing (extrusion, metals processing, or similar)
- Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or OEE initiatives
- Design for manufacturing and engineering change management Details
