Criminal Defense Legal Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Criminal Defense Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. • Assist attorneys with case preparation, including drafting legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence
• Conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case strategies
• Manage and organize case files using document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw
• Review and analyze evidence, witness statements, and discovery materials for accuracy and relevance
• Schedule and coordinate client interviews, court appearances, and meetings while maintaining effective communication
• Handle administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
• Support litigation processes by preparing trial binders, managing deadlines, and tracking case progress

• Prior paralegal experience or legal administrative support in a criminal law setting preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of procedural law, criminal litigation processes, and courtroom procedures
• Experience with legal research platforms such as Westlaw or LexisNexis is highly desirable
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document review tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration
• Familiarity with legal case management software like PCLaw or iManage is a plus
