About the job

Founding Manufacturing Manager, Assembly & Electrical Integration (Atlanta, GA)

Role

You will be the first manufacturing hire in Atlanta and will set up and run the Rocky series line. You own the full build: mechanical assembly, harness installation, power-up, integration test and final QA. You will lead a small team (2–5 technicians and assemblers) and stay hands-on.

Responsibilities
  • Set up the Atlanta line: layout, fixtures, lifting equipment, test equipment and tooling.
  • Build SOPs from product engineering drawings, BOMs and test specs. Plan production schedules and run receiving, inventory and kitting.
  • Lead mechanical assembly: fastening to torque specs, mounting the robot arm onto the base and other heavy lifts. Plan and supervise safe lifting with cranes, hoists and forklifts.
  • Install and route harnesses, mate connectors, power up and test systems.
  • Define incoming inspection for supplier-built harnesses and subassemblies. Isolate faults at bring-up and drive corrective action with suppliers and engineering.
  • Track first-pass yield, rework and labor efficiency. Run 8D/5-Whys on escapes.
  • Maintain serial-number traceability and build records.
  • Run repair and test of returned units, mainly module and harness replacement, and share repair data with engineering.
  • Hire, train and supervise the assembly and technician team.
  • Enforce OSHA, LOTO and 5S. Act as the US execution partner to product engineering, supply chain and quality.
Requirements
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or Automation, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in industrial equipment, automation or electromechanical assembly, including 2+ years as a supervisor or lead.
  • Reads mechanical drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams. Experienced with 3-phase and battery power, control circuits and fault isolation.
  • Experience supervising assembly workers on heavy equipment, including torque-controlled fastening and overhead lifting.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E and LOTO.
  • Structured problem solving and use of production data.
  • Authorized to work in the US.

Preferred

  • Launched a new assembly line.
  • Warehouse automation or industrial robotics background.
  • PLC, servo and sensor familiarity.
  • MES/ERP, ISO 9001 and lean experience.
  • Experience working with overseas teams. Mandarin is a plus.
