Chief Financial Officer, Law Firm

About the Role Our esteemed law firm is seeking a dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with extensive experience in the legal or professional services sector. This key leadership role will involve providing strategic financial direction, managing all accounting functions, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and partner reporting standards.

• Provide strategic financial leadership and oversight.
• Oversee financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities.
• Manage cash flow and treasury operations.
• Direct billing and collections processes effectively.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and audit/tax cycles.
• Lead and develop the finance team to achieve departmental goals.
• Implement finance-related strategic initiatives, including technology enhancements and M&A activities.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or equivalent is strongly preferred.
• At least 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior controller or CFO position.
• Deep technical knowledge of GAAP and experience in a professional services environment.
• Expertise in managing accounts payable/receivable and collections.
• Hands-on experience with financial and practice management systems, along with advanced Excel skills.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities.
• High integrity in handling sensitive financial information.
• Experience with partner compensation models and cash distribution processes is preferred. Travel Requirement: Less than 10%
