Remote Controller / Accounting Lead, Multifamily Property Management (Full-Time, US Central Hours) - Contract to Hire

This is not a data-entry seat. As our remote Controller, you own the full accounting function and cash position for the portfolio. You close the books clean every month, keep cash in view, and hand off clean numbers to our outside CPA. You will have real ownership from day one, with our existing remote accountant supporting your daily work. Accounting is mission-critical here, so this is a high-trust seat.

The Close: monthly financials for about 14 entities, issued by the 15th.

The Cash: reconciling about 30 bank accounts a month, and watching cash through the January and July tax crunch.

The Flow: AP and AR, about 200 to 300 checks and 60 ACH entries a month, plus inter-entity billing.

The Accuracy: accruals for property tax, asset management fees, and loan interest, budget vs actual by the 20th, and chasing down missing invoices.

The Handoff: a clean year-end packet for our CPA, and payroll.

The Redundancy: work alongside and back up our existing accountant, so our accounting knowledge is never stuck with one person.

Accounting degree or equivalent

Property management accounting experience

Entrata, or a fast learner on Buildium, AppFolio, or Yardi

Comfortable owning many entities at real volume

Strong written and spoken English to work directly with our US team
