Location: Jasper Amicalola EMC has an immediate opening for the following position: Accountant. This position will aid the Manager of Accounting and staff in keeping a complete and systematic set of accounting records for the Co-op as well as preparing monthly and yearly financial reports. DUTIES
- Records the proper accounting entries and reconciles accounts.
- Analyzes and prepares explanations as requested of accounting records.
- Cross trains with Accounting Department Staff to provide back up as needed.
- Completes formal training and stays familiar with the uniform system of accounts as prescribed by RUS.
- Posts approved entries to subsidiary ledgers, journals, and the general ledger.
- Assists and aids with inventories and reconciles G/L, stock ledger, and inventory count.
- Other duties or projects as required. EDUCATION Bachelors Degree in Accounting required. CPA Certification preferred. EXPERIENCE Prior experience of at least 3 years in accounting. ABILITIES AND SKILLS
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, written and oral communication skills are essential.
- Must have the ability to work independently, manage time, and possess personal initiative.
- Must maintain a valid driver's license. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work. Occasional walking, standing, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying materials, equipment and office supplies
