About the job
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Controller/Office Manager to lead the accounting operations for our Kia dealership in the Atlanta area. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting operational leadership with financial insights.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in automotive dealership accounting, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is a hands-on leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all dealership accounting functions, including:
- General ledger
- Financial statement preparation
- Accounts payable and receivable
- Payroll and commissions
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements in compliance with OEM and management requirements
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes
- Manage cash flow, bank reconciliations, and flooring schedules
- Maintain and enforce internal controls and accounting policies
- Supervise and develop accounting staff
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and corporate leadership
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Provide financial analysis to support operational decision-making
- Monitor dealership performance metrics and identify improvement opportunities
Qualifications
- 5+ years of automotive dealership accounting experience (required)
- Prior experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller
- Strong knowledge of dealership accounting systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, or similar)
- Solid understanding of:
- OEM financial statements
- Dealership operations (sales, service, parts)
- Inventory and flooring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA a plus)
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong leadership and communication abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
