A well-established Houston-based General Contractor is looking to add a Controller to the team. This is a hands-on position reporting directly to ownership, offering broad exposure across accounting, operations, cash flow management, and office administration within a family-owned construction business. Key Responsibilities
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes
- Produce financial statements, WIP reports, and cash flow forecasts
- Track project costs against budgets and backlog
- Oversee AP/AR, subcontractor invoicing, and client pay applications
- Maintain compliance across accounting, insurance, tax, and benefits functions
- Assist with internal controls, reconciliations, and operational processes
- Support onboarding, benefits administration, and office operations What They’re Looking For
- 5+ years of accounting experience within construction/general contracting
- Strong understanding of job costing and WIP reporting
- Experience with Sage, ADP, and Excel is a must
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Someone comfortable in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment Additional Info
