ASC Administrator / Director of Nursing

An orthopaedic practice is looking for one leader to run its Atlanta surgery center, both the business and the nursing. You'd be the center's administrator and its Director of Nursing. You'd own the budget and the P&L, lead the nursing team, and partner directly with the surgeons. This is a leadership role, not a bedside role. On top of a $200K–$225K base, you'd share in the center's profits, so how well you run the place shows up in your pay.

What it's like

You work closely with the physicians and the Medical Director. Your job is to build a team that holds itself accountable and gives patients exceptional care. You're on site, and your schedule follows the surgical schedule.

• Lead and build the team. You'll hire, develop and keep clinical and office staff, and manage staffing levels.
• Run nursing and surgery. You'll oversee pre-op, the operating rooms, recovery and discharge. You'll also work to improve on-time starts, room turnover and patient flow.
• Keep the center survey-ready. You'll own licenses and accreditation and lead the quality improvement program (QAPI) with the Medical Director.
• Own the numbers. You'll manage the budget and the P&L, including labor, supply and implant costs, and case profitability. You'll partner with revenue cycle on billing and collections.
• Handle credentialing, vendors, supplies, equipment and emergency readiness.

• An active, unrestricted Georgia RN license.
• A bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN), healthcare administration, business or a related field.
• 5+ years leading in an ambulatory surgery center (ASC) or similar surgical setting, including direct oversight of perioperative nursing.
• Hands-on experience with at least one accreditation, certification or state survey, including the follow-up and corrective actions.
• A track record of managing budgets, supplies, implants and vendors, and working well with physicians.

Orthopaedic surgery experience, CASC or CNOR certification, a master's degree, and experience in a combined Administrator / DON role.
