Summary
The Project Coordinator serves as a key liaison between the Engineering Department and other departments throughout the organization. This position is responsible for coordinating projects and departmental initiatives, improving cross-functional communication, supporting efficient workflows, and helping ensure the successful execution of Engineering-related projects. The Project Coordinator also supports continuous improvement within the Engineering Department by assisting with process development, technical coordination, training, scheduling, and special projects. Responsibilities
- Develop, standardize, document, and continuously improve Engineering Department processes and workflows.
- Lead and coordinate special projects and departmental initiatives as assigned.
- Serve as a liaison between Engineering, Project Management, and other departments to facilitate effective communication and project coordination.
- Communicate project changes and assist with detail design coordination as needed.
- Perform preliminary reviews of shop drawings and fabrication drawings to identify potential issues and support quality and accuracy.
- Support the development and improvement of scripts, automation tools, and Engineering workflows, including troubleshooting errors and coordinating corrective actions.
- Lead or facilitate scheduling and coordination meetings as required.
- Coordinate and lead ongoing development meetings to ensure Engineering initiatives remain aligned with departmental objectives and broader company goals.
- Identify opportunities to improve communication, efficiency, consistency, and accountability across Engineering-related processes.
- Assist Engineering leadership with the implementation and follow-through of departmental initiatives and process improvements.
Qualifications
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret construction documents, technical drawings, specifications, and material takeoffs.
- Working knowledge of Shop Drawing drafting, 3D modeling, Production Drawing drafting, scan-data interpretation, and engineering calculations.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and organizational levels.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and help resolve workflow, coordination, and technical issues.
- Proficiency with PDF review and markup software and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related business software.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Design, or a related field.
- Experience within the manufacturing, construction, architectural, or engineering industries.
- Experience coordinating projects or workflows involving Engineering, Project Management, Manufacturing, or related operational departments.
