Controls Hardware Engineer

- Citizens and Green Card holders who are authorized to work in the U.S. and can be hired directly on a W-2 basis. About the Role We are looking for a Controls Hardware Engineer to support controls hardware and control cabinet design for complex industrial and power-generation applications. This role is a good fit for an experienced engineer who has strong hands-on experience with PLC/DCS hardware, I/O systems, control cabinet design, and electrical design calculations, while still being comfortable working within established engineering standards and processes. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop control cabinets and controls hardware systems
- Select and integrate PLC/DCS hardware, I/O cards, and related components
- Perform heat-load, electrical, and other engineering design calculations
- Develop and review electrical drawings using AutoCAD Electrical
- Support hardware design reviews, testing, and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs)
- Work with engineering teams to ensure designs meet project and technical requirements
- Support occasional periods of 5-day onsite work for design reviews, FATs, and other project needs Required Qualifications
- Experience in controls hardware and control cabinet design
- Hands-on experience with PLC or DCS hardware and I/O systems
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical
- Experience performing electrical, heat-load, or related engineering calculations
- Engineering degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a related discipline
- Ability to work onsite in Alpharetta, GA 3 days per week
- Must be local to the area or willing to relocate Nice to Have Experience with:
- Modbus
- DNP 3.0
- IEC 61850
- Profibus
- TCP/IP
- Power generation or energy systems Industrial controls experience from sectors such as manufacturing, paper, food processing, or other industrial environments is also relevant. Ideal Background The team is looking for an experienced engineer who can contribute independently while remaining adaptable to the company's engineering processes and standards. 10+ years of experience is welcome, but overall fit and relevant controls hardware experience are more important than a specific number of years.
Pay
