Mechanical Engineer Location: Atlanta, GA (Hybrid Onsite) Duration: 6+ Months (Potential Extension) Interview Process: Virtual/Onsite Rate: Up to $60/hr on W2 (No Benefits) Job Overview We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer II to support production rollout activities, mechanical design enhancements, supplier coordination, and manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CAD design, technical drawings, component sourcing, and troubleshooting production issues in a fast-paced engineering environment. Key Responsibilities
- Provide mechanical engineering support for production and assembly initiatives.
- Create, modify, and maintain 3D CAD models and technical drawings.
- Collaborate with suppliers for part sourcing, manufacturing, and procurement activities.
- Identify and qualify new vendors for mechanical components and assemblies.
- Support environmental testing and product validation efforts.
- Develop inventory structures for new parts and assemblies.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing, production, and assembly-related issues.
- Travel to assembly and production locations as required. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field with 2+ years of experience; OR equivalent technical education and relevant experience.
- 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
- Strong experience with Autodesk Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar 3D CAD tools.
- Ability to create and interpret technical drawings.
- Understanding of mechanical tolerancing principles.
- Excellent problem-solving and hands-on engineering skills.
